It appears that Cowon have developed the S9 with real audio and video fans in mind, the display is a 3.3 inch touchscreen and uses AMOLED technology which produces superb quality images, they are brighter and crisper than standard TFT displays and if that isn't enough they actually use less power so the battery life on the Cowon S9 also benefits with a superb 55 hours audio or 11 hours video playback.

Audio
The sound quality on the S9 is arguably its best feature, utilising Cowons own BBE+ audio technology, it produces some of the best sound ever heard from a portable device. And not only is the quality great, the codec support is also excellent with the ability to play MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, WAV and APE files.

Design
And don't think that Cowon have cut corners by using a poor design, on the contrary, they have pulled out all the stops to produce a sleek and stylish design for the Cowon S9, with gorgeous curves and a button-less front face it has both the look and the quality to be a real competitor.

Interface
An easy to use touch screen UI is the finishing touch to a superb product, it has clear icons to help you navigate around the menus. While the menus don't quite have the sleekness of the iPod touch, they still have a quality feel about them.
